The given housing field is located in Bridgeport, Chicago.  The area has strong diversity in its inhabitants but the heavily gridded organization of the fabric seems to have disconnected this diversity. From the first exercise of grafting the  Kyoto storefront house typology into the Bridgeport fabric, I intend to  break off the regulated grid to provide courtyards between clusters of units and connect the courtyards with light corridors between the units/ dwellings.
