The Art Institute Pavilion

Project Type: Recreation/Pavilion

Site: North garden of The Art Institute of Chicago

Year: Spring 2016

Taking away the idea of eliminating the existence of walls, using geometry, from Toyo Ito’s Serpentine pavilion, I devised a grid of horizontal, vertical and diagonal crossing lines folded in different patterns to create a space that invites people in and walk around to the different entrances.
